MC Hub Facts

Here is a list of fun facts that you may never have known about Minecraft.

We have specified which editions of Minecraft they refer to.

Ghast Sounds

Ghast sounds are made by C418's cats!

C418 is the person who made the sounds for Minecraft.

For Bedrock and Java Edition.

Lava Flowing

In the Overworld, lava flows at 50% of the speed of water.

But in the Nether, it flows at 80%, so watch out!

For Bedrock and Java Edition.

Paused Overworld

In Minecraft, if all the players are in the Nether, the Overworld gets paused.

So crops don't grow, mobs don't move, and time doesn't pass, alongside other things.

For Bedrock and Java Edition.

Noses

Did you know?

When drinking potions, Witches' noses lift up slightly.

For Bedrock and Java Edition.

Axolotl Colours

The rare blue axolotl is a reference to Pokemon: there is a blue Pokemon named Mudkip based on an axolotl.

See this Reddit post.

There is a green axolotl variant, which is not included in the game, yet the texture is present in the texture files.

Minceraft

Rarely, on the Minecraft in-game start screen, instead of saying 'Minecraft' it says 'Minceraft'!

(There is a 1 in 10,000 chance of this happening)

For Bedrock Edition.

Health Meter

Dogs have a built-in health meter! The lower the tail, the lower the health; the higher the tail, the higher the health!

If the health gets too low, the dog will DIE and you will be sad.

For Bedrock and Java Edition.

Soul Suffocating?

Endermites & siverfish will suffocate in soul sand!

For Bedrock and Java Edition.

Mob Vision

If you go into gamemode 3 (spectator) and right-click a mob, you will then get the vision of that mob.

A creeper will turn the world green, and an enderman will turn the world purple.

A spider will duplicate the normal vision, putting one on top of the other, squishing both halves.

For Java Edition.

Bow vs Sword

A fully charged bow will do more damage than a diamond sword!

If you're on the run, a dimond sword will be better because the bow takes a long time to charge up.

For Bedrock and Java Edition.

Mobs in Boats

You can put friendly and hostile mobs in boats!

To do this, you need to lead the mob to the boat.

This helps to move mobs around. You can also trap hostile mobs in boats to kill them.

For Bedrock and Java Edition.

Potion Duration

If you splash a potion on your head, the effect will last slightly longer than if you splash anywhere else.

This can be incredibly useful if you're using potions.

For Bedrock and Java Edition.

Leaf, Leaf, Leaf!

The colour of the grass and leaves change depending on the biome!

The type of leaf also changes depending on the tree.

For Bedrock and Java Edition.

Death Messages

When you die to an explosion, the death message "[Gamertag] was blown up by ______" will appear in the chat.

When you die to a melee attack, the death message "[Gamertag] was slain by ______" will appear in the chat.

When you die to a projectile, the death message "[Gamertag] was shot by ______" will appear in the chat.

When you burn to death, the death message "[Gamertag] burnt to a crisp" will appear in the chat.

When you die to magma, the death message "[Gamertag] discovered the floor was lava" will appear in the chat.

When you die to an exploding bed, the death message "[Gamertag] was slain by [Intentional Game Design]" will appear in the chat.

When you fly into a wall and die, the death message "[Gamertag] experienced kinetic energy" will appear in the chat.

When you fall to your death, the death message "[Gamertag] fell from a high place" will appear in the chat.

When you drown, the death message "[Gamertag] drowned" will appear in the chat.

When you die to potions, the death message "[Gamertag] was killed by magic" will appear in the chat.

When you fall into the void, the death message "[Gamertag] fell out of the world" will appear in the chat.

In some cases where there are other variants of the death message, we display the most common one.

For Bedrock Edition.
